I've been using Fiber bars to lose weight. How many can I eat in a day?
According to the American Dietetic Association, it is recommended that adults get 25 to 30 grams of dietary Fiber each day, depending upon age and total daily calories. Many health experts recommend eating more for maximum health benefits. However, it is estimated that most Americans only get 12-15 grams of fiber per day.
Your decision as to how many fiber bars to eat will, therefore, depend on how much fiber you are getting from other foods, and also how much fiber is in each bar you consume. You'll need to do this calculation. Remember, adding too much Fiber too can cause minor bloating and abdominal cramps. In addition, if you are a big fiber eater, make sure you are also an avid water drinker.
